Periodontal Diseases

Periodontal diseases, or chronic infections of the gums, are the primary cause for the great majority of serious dental conditions - including the loss of teeth, bone and gum tissues. Unfortunately, periodontal diseases are also humankind’s most common affliction: over 90% of the adults in our society have some level and form of periodontal disease…

Yes, they have it, but notice I didn’t say they suffer from it! Because, in its earlier stages, which may last many years, periodontal disease often has no symptoms. In other words: it can only be detected and diagnosed by a dental professional.

Early diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease is critical. Preventive measures implemented at an early stage can save a great deal of discomfort, and considerable sums of money! However, the outcomes of more advanced gum diseases are also quite treatable, especially with today’s state-of-the-art methods and technologies.

At Dr. Hatchuel’s clinic, we specialize in treating both periodontal diseases and their consequences, dividing our treatment into three parts (or stages):

  1. Initial therapy. The problems are diagnosed, the patient is informed and instructed, and causal factors – usually bacteria – are addressed through specially developed, in-depth cleaning methods.
  2. Corrective therapy. The damaged dental infrastructure is reconstructed through a unique combination of advanced technology and professional artistry, restoring the patient’s quality of life. Treatment may include all modern-day procedures, as needed: periodontal plastic surgery, bone regeneration, dental implants, computer generated implant planning and more. 3. Maintenance. Long-term maintenance is absolutely essential for preserving both original and restored structures! For this purpose, Dr. Hatchuel has designed a unique long-term maintenance program, carried out by his specially trained staff, which includes regular in-depth cleaning and monitoringof gum pockets.
