About Dr. Dorian Hatchuel

About Dr. Dorian Hatchuel
Well established in his private practice in Ra'anana, Israel, Dr. Dorian Hatchuel knows that he has arrived. This is his chosen destination, both professionally and geographically, after a long journey that equipped him with numerous skills and a great deal of advanced treatment experience.

As he now says:
Here, in my Raanana clinic, I am enjoying the challenge of all the new and varied techniques that modern technology is allowing us to perform. These include procedures in periodontal plastic surgery, periodontal regeneration, bone augmentation for implant placement where bone is lacking, as well as computer guided implant planning and placement.
Beginnings in South Africa
Dr. Hatchuel’s journey began at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, with a Bachelor of Dental Science (1980), and a Master degree in Oral Medicine and Periodontics (1987). During and in-between his studies, he opened his first general dental office, and taught restorative and periodontal dentistry to undergraduates.

Practicing and teaching in Canada
Moving to Edmonton, Canada, in 1988, Dr. Hatchuel took up an appointment as Assistant Professor of Diagnosis at the University of Alberta, and taught a residency program in Periodontics to General Practice at the Edmonton University Hospital. In 1991, having completed the required examinations, he received the Canadian National Dental Examining Board Certificate, as well as a Membership in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada for Periodontics. In 1992 he moved to Toronto, where he practiced general dentistry and periodontics, and taught final year students at the University of Toronto.
 Final stop: Israel
In January 1996 Dr. Hatchuel and his family made Aliya. Once again he completed all the licensing examinations, and began to practice general dentistry and periodontics as a specialist.

During the first few years he worked in various private practices, as well as in Maccabi and Hila - a private chain of dental offices that put him in charge of periodontics from Kiryat Bialik in the North to Be'er Sheba in the South. In this capacity, responding to the needs of his Israeli patients, Dr. Hatchuel developed a system for treating large numbers of patients in a conservative manner. This allowed him to raise the standard of dental care where he worked, and reach many more patients than would otherwise have been treated. In addition, he served as consultant at Moshav Bnei Darom and Kibbutz Givat Haim (Ihud), and practiced dental implant therapy under general anaesthesia at Assuta Hospital, for medically frail and fearful patients. He also continued to teach final year students at the University of Toronto, proudly receiving the outstanding teacher award from his students in 2004.

In 2003 Dr. Hatchuel was elected to the committee of the Israel Periodontics and Osseointegration Society. He served as the committee’s President in 2006, and remained on the committee until February 2008.

Presenting his professional philosophy, which has brought him to his present position,
Dr. Hatchuel concludes:
During all my years as a Dentist and Periodontist I have regularly attended local and international continuing education courses, congresses and workshops. I have lectured locally and abroad. And I have always kept abreast of the latest methods and technologies. One of the most exciting and advanced techniques, which I am actively pursuing today at my clinic, is computer guided implant planning and placement.

As you can see, I have devoted my working life to helping my patients, by providing them with the most advanced and up-to-date knowledge in periodontics and implant dentistry.

I would be honoured to treat you in my private practice in Ra'anana, Israel!
